Sketches! Guest Designer: Deborah Nicholas

I am excited to announce that this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:

Deborah Nicholas

Hi, My name is Deborah Nicholas from England. I have been with my husband for 13 years (married for 10) and we have 4 sons (12, 10, 5 and 3) who are the main reason i scrapbook and cardmake. I am a stay at home mum who seemed to struggle with one boy more than i do with the 4 - go figure, i think its a 'thrive on pressure' thing! lol

I have been scrapbooking for around 7 years now and love it more now than i did back then. Sitting one night i flicked through some arty sites and stumbled across 2peas and never looked back. There is something so comforting looking through the old albums and seeing how my style has changed throughout the years. I have to admit i think its for the better as some of those early pages are also cringe worthy! lol

I have recently gotten into cardmaking in a big way and love it - kind of in a mini scrapbook way. A little work and its done, plus you get to pass it on and share with other :) I adore the sketch sites and am completely addicted so much so once the boys are in bed i can be found tapping and glueing away until the early hours of the morning! :) I try to update my blog every day with links and cards i have made plus random life quotes and photos on the way :) www.countryheartandhome.blogspot.com

I asked Deborah to choose a one of her favorite Layout Sketches. And she chose Layout Sketch #55.

And here is her Layout she made using that sketch.

Sketches! Inspiration: September 19th

I found 23 Cards and Layouts in the comment section on the Sketches! blog for Layout and Card Sketches #61 and Recipe Challenge #14. I did a random drawing. And here are this weeks 10 Featured Cards and Layouts.

Next Friday I will feature cards and layouts that were made using either Card or Layout Sketch #62, in addition, Recipe Challenge #15. I will draw 10 names from those who linked up their work in the comment section. It needs to be uploaded no later than Wednesday night to be eligible to be featured here on the blog.

Have a great weekend!

Sketches! Design Team Spotlight: Cookie Aguilar

I am excited to announce that this weeks Sketches! Design Team Spotlight is:
Cookie Aguilar

I’m Cookie Aguilar, a scrapper from the Philippines. I’m 30 years old, married for 4 years to a very supportive husband named Henry and a full-time mom to a sweet and energetic 3-year old boy Harvey.

Been seriously scrapping since May 2007. I love this hobby so much because it makes me express my love for my family, for art, makes me meet new friends and it’s my sanity pill after a tiring day doing household chores and performing mommy duties.

My family is my main source of inspiration. I scrap because of them… I love to take pictures of our everyday moments and create pages out of it. It’s also my way of expressing my thoughts and wishes especially for my dear Harvey. I want to have something for him to see when he’s all grown up. I want to show him how I value every detail of his growing years with me.

Style? Well, honestly, I really don’t know… All I’ve noticed is that I love to layer different pattern papers and I love to use bold colors on my pages as well as neutral tones such as hues of browns, greens and blues. My colors usually depend on the picture that I’m going to scrap. Others say that my new Los are full of texture embellishments such as chipboards (chipboards - painting & stamping on it are two of my favorite things to do at the moment). I still have a lot to learn in scrapbooking, and I would be glad to share them to you guys too!

Hope to be able to inspire people with my work!

I asked Cookie to choose her favorite layout she made since she has been on the Sketches! Layout Design Team, and she chose Layout Sketch #48.

Thank you Cookie for all the creative Layouts over the past several months. I love looking at my inbox each week to see what you turned in. I am always in awe of your scrapping talent.

Scrapping Recipe Challenge #15

These challenges can be used on cards or layouts.

I will give a list of three items that must be used on a card or layout. You are not limited to only the three items listed. You can use as many items on your layout or cards as you wish. But the minimum on it must be what is listed in the recipe.

This weeks Recipe came from Lori, one of the Recipe Design Team Members.

Create a card or layout using the following items:

  • Scallopped Edges
  • Brads
  • Monochromatic Colors
Check out what the Design Team did with this recipe.

As usual, if you would like to share your take on this challenge, link it up in the comment section. Your layout or card could be featured here on the Sketches! Blog for our Friday Inspiration next week.

Have a great day Everyone!
