Card Sketch #29

We are getting close to Friday. And I for one am very happy about that. I need a weekend really bad right about now.

I have a bit of news. I have asked Carol Sheetz to join us here on our Sketches! Card Design Team. Her cards are beautiful. You can check out her blog and see some of them and to get to know her. Her first card is uploaded here today. Welcome Carol!

I want to thank the design team for amazing cards they sent in to go with the sketch. They are really fabulous!

Today's Sketch is another round one. Remember the beauty of a sketch, it is there for inspiration. You don't have to copy the sketch to the last final detail. You can use one or two things from it. Make the card your own. Perhaps you don't like round cards. And that is OK. Check out Holly's card below. You can see she still used the sketch, but did not make the round card. I love it!

I hope everyone has a great day!

12 X 12 Layout Sketch #29

Happy Monday!

A quick reminder that today is the last day to apply to become a Sketches! Layout Design Team Member. I have had a huge response. Bigger than I have ever dreamed. Everyone is so talented. The decision is going to be a hard one. I am hoping to have an announcement tomorrow of who the new design team memebers will be.

This weeks sketch is a fun one. A great way to get so many pictures on one layout. Love the layouts the design team has done. Thank You to Beth, Michelle and Shannon for your layouts.

Hope you all have a fabulous week. I will be back tomorrow with an announcement for the new design team members and then again on Thursday for a card sketch.

12 X 12 Layout Sketch #28

I am so very excited about this sketch today. Normally, my main focus when making the layout sketches is for multiple photos. There are plenty of sketch sites that are for single photo layouts and I wanted my site to be a little different than everyone else. And I always scrap with multiple photos and had a hard time finding sketches for those layouts.

But this sketch, I stepped out of my norm. Not only did I step out of my norm for a sketch, but also for me to actually scrap with just one photo. Here is my first ever One Photo Sketch! I honestly love how it turned out.

If you decide to use the sketch, I'd love to see it. Just link it up here in the comment section.

Thank You to Beth and Leslie for their layouts.

Have a super week!

12 x 12 Layout Sketch #27

This past week, I learned how to digi scrap. I said I never would, but I did and I am having fun with it. It won't ever replace the traditional paper scrapping for me, but it is fun to learn something new.

Thank you to Michelle and Beth for this week's layouts.

have a great week!

Card Sketch #25

Happy New Year! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday.

I am very happy to have 2008 here upon us. I am so looking forward to all the things that will happen in this year. I am excited for all the new people I will be able to get to know through the internet.

This week's sketch is one that I came up with while walking the streets in Frankfurt, Germany. In November, I was with a Scrap Freak friend who was on a business trip there. We were walking in the city center when I saw a store sign. I immediately thought of a card. I took a picture of the sign and told Jessica (my friend) about my intentions for a sketch with that as my inspiration.

This card sketch was made with a 3 x 3 card in mind. Granted, you don't have to make yours 3 X 3. The great thing about sketches is that they are there to inspire you. Just like that sign I saw. It inspired me. My card sketch isn't exactly like the sign. But because of that sign, I was able to come up with an idea to make it my own.

Thank you to the wonderful design team members who have contributed to this week's card sketch. I appreciate every single one of you!

Have a great week!
