When I’m not making cards I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and watching my favorite TV shows. I want to thank Sandie at Sketches! {by tamara} for this awesome opportunity!

Sketches! Guest Designer:- Jackie Giering

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:-

JACKIE GIERING

Hi my name is Jackie (though most people call me Jak) and I live in sunny Worcestershire (UK) with my husband of nearly 27 years.

We have 4 grown-up children and 2 gorgeous grandbabies, who tend to feature a lot on my layouts.

Ive always liked crafts and back in 2003 I thought I would try my hand at cardmaking. Not knowing where to start I decided to browse the net and came by scrapbooking purely by accident. I havent looked back since, oh and the card making? It never did happen!

Ive been published several times in UK scrap mags and am currenty a DT member of the challenge blog Scrap Schemes.

My biggest source of inspiration is from sketches and fellow bloggers, you'll often find me hanging out here browsing the sketches or on 52sketches52weeks.com. For my layout, Ive taken inspiration from Layout Sketch #86.

You can see more of my layouts and DT work at http://cestlevie23.blogspot.com/ I am absolutely thrilled to be the Guest Designer on this this weeks Sketches, thanks for asking me.

Sketches! Guest Designer: Marcia Pringle

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:-

MARCIA PRINGLE

I’m Marcia and I live in Perth, Western Australia. I’m married to the most gorgeous man and mum to one beautiful daughter. I work part time in customer service.

I have been cardmaking for about 6 years with my first foray into paper craft being when I made my wedding invitations nine years ago. A couple of years back a friend invited me to a Stampin Up demonstration when they launched in Australia and the rest is history. I haven’t looked back and hubby has stopped looking at the sales receipts.

After gentle (and not so gentle) persuasion by family and friends, I recently took the giant leap of pushing forward with my special occasion invitations and stationery business. Since mid 2008 I have been flat out with orders and I have enjoyed bringing something special to the events of my clients. The business is growing and it is such a nice thing to turn something you love into a steady income stream.

I set myself some goals for 2009 – the main one to be published. So far my work has had a publishing call on it twice and I have been or soon to be guest designer for two different challenge sites. Always doubting my own ability it has been a nice boost to my confidence and shows that anyone can do it if they put their mind to it!

You can pop past my blog at www.thestampspot.blogspot.com

Thank you so much for the chance to be guest designer at Sketches this week – I am truly honoured to be part of the wonderful talent here!

I asked Marcia to choose a Card Sketch to work with and she chose Sketch #65.

Sketches! Guest Designer: Jane Hunt

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:-

JANE HUNT

Hi im Jane, from Norfolk, UK. Mum to twins aged 6, I work in IT by day. Although very creative as a child, the original scrapbooks - weren't they fab! it spilled over into adulthood.
Originally a card-maker I found scrapbooking in the summer of 2005. I first attended a local crop where I met one of my now best friends and I have been totally hooked on it ever since. Like others I have the odd mojo failure but love to create and do so at any given spare moment. When I do have a mojo meltdown it's always sparked again by inspiring others which kicks starts me everytime!
I'm a mini-book mad, grungey, 7Gypsies lover - yet loving some of the bright colourful stash that's been around lately. I'm not that confident about my work as daily I see so many beautiful creations, im in love with sketches as it's another great way to start my creativity.
PS very proud to be here!!! My blog can be found here - http://www.ayyjay1.blogspot.com/

I asked Jane to choose a Layout Sketch to work with and she chose Sketch #75.

My name is Amber Korn. I am 28 years old, will be 29 in two weeks, and live in Carthage, MO with my husband of 10 years and our two children, Levi who is 6-years-old and Lilly who is 4-years old.

I am currently attending school, WTI, to become a Medical Assistant and am also an Independent Consultant for Close To My Heart.

For as long as I can remember I've also been into making things as early as age five, my great-grandmother helped to teach me about hand quilting, my mom got be hooked on cross-stitching, machine quilting and making my own cloths, I even have my grandmother's passion for cooking. All the women in my life have been a great influence on me and my crafting and creative abilities.

Scrapbooking is my major obsession, I started around July of 1999 right after the death of my father, it just blossomed from there after the birth and adoption of our children, I even have a little helper/scrapper in my daughter. I just recently got into card making it is especially easy with these beautiful sketches.

About two years ago, I also became addicted to blogging, and hope to some day see some of my artwork published in some publications. My blog address is http://www.kornyscrapping.blogspot.com/ and my Close To My Heart web page is http://www.lifetimeofmemories.myctmh.com/.

Sketches! Guest Designer Sarah Jane Dowsett

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:-

SARAH JANE DOWSETT

SJ has been crafting since she can remember. As a child, whilst her other friends were out causing mayhem, she would often sit in her room drawing. Her love of art and design followed her into her teens, going to Art College where she studied Art and Photography and then going on to open a tiny craft store with her mum when she was 18.

She has always said, she doesn't know her times tables, but she knows the harmonising colours on a colour wheel by heart! SJ started scrapping in 2004, but first discovered the craft when she briefly lived in New York in 2001. Sarah has been on various DT's over the years and currently scraps for the UK number 1 selling kit, Scrapagogo, and she has also designed a range of rubber stamps. SJ was frequently published in Creative Scrapbooking (no longer in publication) and has been published in Scrapbook Inspirations on many occasions.

She describes her style as slightly cartoony, and bold. Her favourite tools are alphabet stickers and her white and black pens, without which she wouldn't be able to scrap!Never seen without a camera in her hand, she feels her love of photography goes neatly hand in hand with her love of scrapping.

SJ is Married to Ben, and a mother of one, Finlay Curtis, she lives in the seaside town of Bexhill in Sussex.

I asked SJ to choose a Layout Sketch to work with and she chose Sketch #78.

And here is her layout using the Sketch.

Sketches! Guest Designer - Amanda Cruxton

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:-

AMANDA CRUXTON

My name is Amanda Cruxton but my friends call me Mandy. I am 37 years old and live in Birmingham in the UK with my husband Paul. We have been together 20 years although married for only 7.

I am currently looking for work having been made redundant twice in the last 6 months, but I usually work in Transport Administration.

I have been making 'things' since I was a small child and could always find something to keep me occupied. I started cross stitching when I was 15 and that moved into cardmaking in 2002 after visiting a craft show and the obsession began. I have been blogging for almost 2 years and have been lucky to have some cards published in the reader pages of UK magazines.
I love using sketches as it encourages me to lay out my cards in a different style than I would normally do. It also lets me concentrate on the materials rather than if the design 'looks right'. I am tempted to have a go at scrapbooking and I know the sketches will be a great help with that.

Thanks you so much for choosing me to be a Guest Designer, I can't tell you how honoured and excited I am.

I asked Amanda to choose a Card Sketch to work with and she chose Sketch #83.

Sketches! Guest Designer: Robbie Herring

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:

ROBBIE HERRING

I am a born and bred Texan, who has been married 21 years. My husband and I have two great kids who are my inspiration. I am a craft junkie. I think I’ve tried just about everything. In addition to scrapbooking, I enjoy sewing and painting. Some friends introduced me to scrapbooking about 3 ½ years ago. I started out thinking that I would make a senior album for each my kids and that would be the extent of my involvement. I was immediately hooked! In scrapbooking, I have found a craft that allows me to do something I love creatively and preserve our family memories at the same time. For me, that is a perfect combination.

I have recently become an empty nester, so I have even more time to play with my supplies. Thankfully, I’m also married to someone who encourages and supports my habit! I love everything shiny, paper and you will almost always find a piece of ribbon on my layouts.
I truly hope that long after I’m gone, my family and descendants will look at our books and know who we were and where they came from.

I am currently a Design Team member for Zva Creative and My Creative Scrapbook.

I am honored to have been asked to design for you!

I asked Robbie to choose a Layout Sketch to work with and she chose Sketch #59.

Sketches! Guest Designer: Kim Sonksen

I am so excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:

KIM SONKSEN

I have been crafting since I was a wee toddler but only starting getting into making me own cards around 2001/2002 when a co-worker introduced me to this addictive hobby. Soon, the house was filled with punches, peel-offs and stamps and my little creations even sold quite well on Ebay. In 2004 I crossed over to the "dark side" and ventured into the worlds of Scrapbooking rather than card making and am still as obsessed with it as I was on the day when I put my first layout together. Lately I have rekindled my love for card making and I was tickled pink when I was asked to GDT for Sketches! By Tamara. I love working with sketches and making them "mine" by just using parts of the sketches as seen. Generally my cards tend to take a life of their own as I can't stop adding to them. Hopefully I am able to inspire you a little with my take on Sketch 69 - I had great fun using it! If you like, come by my personal blog http://kimsonksen.typepad.com and have a look around. See what I create for Scrap-Art-Zine, SYC, We Kit You Not and Upsy Daisy Designs.

Thank you very much to Tamara and her team for having me as GDT - I am totally excited about it!

I asked Kim to choose a Card Sketch to work with and she chose Sketch #69.

Hi, I'm Jennie Thompson, mom of two little ones in Ohio, where we are all very tired of Winter and ready for Spring! I'm married to a really great guy whose job moves us around a lot, but I can't complain since it allows me to be a SAHM and scrapbooker :)

I've been scrapping for nearly eight years after beginning at a Creative Memories workshop, and I can honestly say that I never would have believed I would end up designing for them as I had the pleasure to do for more than a year! I love this hobby and the people that join in it. I've made wonderful friends and been blessed with publications in various magazines.

I am so honored to be a Guest Designer at Sketches! {by tamara} this week. The sketches here are great inspiration - it was very difficult to pick just one to work with! Thank you for having me, and I hope you are inspired by my version of the sketch :)

My name is Janna Hull and I am a stay at home mother to a beautiful little girl named Isabella who will be 2 in April and a wife to a very supportive husband since 2002.
