Sketches! Layout Design Team Call

There are a few openings on the Sketches! Layout Design Team.


Here are the requirements and terms for the Sketches! Layout Design Team Members.


Sketches! Layout Design Team Term will be for four months. Beginning June 1 – September 30. Keep in mind that this is summer time. If you are going to be going out of town, you can always get a sketch early from me so you don’t miss too many weeks.


Design Team Members are required to turn in at least 3 layouts per month. If you miss turning in a layout three weeks in a row, you will automatically be dropped from the Sketches! Layout Design Team without notice. Also, if your participation is sporadic, meaning you are turning in a layout every other week for a few weeks, you will also be dropped. I am really looking for people who I can count on and rely upon.


Layout Sketches are uploaded every Monday on the blog. At which time, I will email you a new sketch (on that Monday) and you will have until Sunday to complete it.


Design Team members are to promote the Sketches! {by tamara} blog on their personal blogs and Message Boards.


Design Team members are required to have a Sketches! {by tamara} Blinkie on their personal blogs.


Being on the Sketches! Layout Design Team is something that is done without pay. I do the sketches blog for fun and make no money on it. Therefore, I can not pay someone for their part in helping out with the Sketches! Blog. Basically, we all do it for the love we have of for scrapping and card making.


For those interested, email me a link to your blog or online gallery where I can see your work. Or, you can send me two completed layouts you have recently made. Please email me at scrapbooksketches@gmail.com . Please put "Sketches! Layout Design Team" in the subject line.


Deadline is May 21st. New Design Team Members will be announced on the blog no later than May 25th and your first Layout being posted on the blog will be June 2nd.

Winners From National Scrapbook Day

Thank you so much to each and every person who participated in Sketches! {by tamara} for our National Scrapbook Day Sketch Challenges. It has been fun to see all the cards and layouts.

There was a total of 16 submitted layouts or cards. I have to say, for a little ole' blog, I was rather pleased. You can see all the submitted cards and layouts at the bottom of this post. Lots of great stuff to see.

And the winner for the Submitted card or layout is Tammy Hershberger.

Now, onto the next drawing. We have a total of 161 Subscribers. Before National Scrapbook Day, We were at 140. Not a bad jump for a weekend. And the winner is Gems2faced.

Sketches! Guest Designer: Linda Hockaday

I am excited to announce that this week's Sketches! Guest Designer is:

Linda Hockaday

Hi! My name is Linda. I am a 37 year old mom of 2. My daughter is 15 and my son is 10. I work as a Registered Nurse at a nearby hospital. We live in North Carolina where I have been all my life.

Scrapping has become my world over the past few years. I have been scrapbooking for about 6 years, but have become completely obsessed! My biggest inspiration is my children and my kitties! We have five 4 legged darlings! My favorite products are patterned paper and lots of it, ribbon, and flowers.

National Scrapbook Day Sketches with Prizes

With National Scrapbook Day, I wanted to throw out an extra sketch this week. I am very excited to say that not only am I uploading a Layout Sketch but also a Card Sketch. I hope you enjoy them. I can't wait to see your take on the Sketches!

And with it being National Scrapbook Day, I am also offering Prizes. I am giving away, not one, but two $10 Gift Certificates to Scrap Freak, an online Scrapbook Store and Message Board. Here is how you have a chance to win them.

First, I will be doing a random drawing for one Gift Certificate. All you have to do is either create a card or layout using one of these sketches and upload a link in the comment section of where I can find your creation. All those who participate, will be put in the drawing.

The second one is a bit different. I will be rewarding one of my subscribers with a Gift Certificate. If you are already an active subscriber to this blog, than you are already in the drawing. If you are not, it is real easy to subscribe. There is a box in the right hand column for email subscriptions. You will get Sketches! in your email everytime I upload a new one. It is that easy!

Now, you are probably wondering why a Gift Certificate. Well, first being that I live in Germany and to mail anything from here is outrageous. And who doesn't like to pick their own scrap supplies anyway?

Just so you know, you can be entered into both drawings. And, all Design Team Members are allowed to play. But you have to hurry. I will be drawing both winners on Tuesday, May 6th when I wake up in the morning!
