Sketches! Guest Designer: Jen Young

I am excited to announce that this week's Sketches! Guest Designer is:
Jen Young

I ran across Jen's Blog back when I started this Sketches! Blog. And she is the very first one that added me to her Blog Roll. She is very talented. I love her Cards. But recently, she started using the Layout Sketches as well. She is a digital scrapper and does it very well. I on the other hand, am still learning. Here is what Jen had to say about herself:
Aloha!! My name is Jen Young. I live in the beautiful State of Hawaii, on the Island of Oahu. I am 35 years old, a wife of 13 years, and a mother of 2 boys (CY4 - 11 and Cy - 3).
I am actually an avid rubber stamper, and have been stamping for 14 years. About 5 years ago, I decided to expand my creativity of rubber stamping, and try my hands at scrapbooking. I've found that the 2 hobbies are very much alike, but being a rubber stamper - I also found that I wanted more of everything... more paper, more ribbons and more embellishments on every scrapbook layout that I've made (which actually turned out to look like a giant card with photos). Both of my hobbies were taking over my living space (which I am not complaining), however, I do share this living space with the rest of my family - so I didn't want to add more supplies than I already have. Therefore, about 3 years ago, I became extremely curious about Digital Scrapbooking. I did some research, and like any new hobby, started off very slow, and am still trying to learn as I go along. Although it's already been 3 years, I still consider myself very new to this type of scrapbooking, but I am loving every chance I get to create using these tools. I love the fact that I can take my laptop anywhere with me (to my mom's house, Starbucks or even to the park), and I would be able to "scrap" right then an there, with all of my tools at the touch of the button. After creating my "album", I create a slide show with each page, add some music, and then create a DVD. I can then play on my DVD player and watch with my entire family, or make copies to share with other family and friends.

I just want to thank Tamara for giving me a little spot on her blog to "shine" today. I am honored. I have been meaning to use her sketches way back when she first started her blog, and have only started using them more recently. I find that her sketches are clean and fun, and easy to follow - which allows me to create my layouts quickly and simply and possible. So thanks girl!! I am having a blast with all of your sketches.

If you would like to see more of my artwork, please stop by my blogs: Pieces of Me and Jen's TAC Creations.

My creation below was created using a digital scrapbook kit created by Correen Silke which I've purchased at Digital Scrapbook Pages, and my Adobe Photoshop Element 5.0 program

Here is the sketch that Jen Chose to use. It is Sketch #24.

And here is Jen's Digital Layout.
