Chocolate Winner!

Thank you all for a fabulous week! I had eleven people submit cards in hopes of winning some chocolate from Germany. In the end, I used a Random Number Generator and got a winner.

Before I announce the winner, I personally want to thank Monica, Trudi, Jodene, Robin, Maria, Jen, Carla, Nancy, Cheryl, Williams Family and Andrea for your fabulous cards. You are all really talented. I hope my card making abilities will some day be as good as yours.

I am also uploading all the cards for everyone to see how fabulous they are.

Just want to let you all know that this coming Saturday, October 6th, is World Card Making Day. I will be having yet another fantastic Give Away to celebrate. So, make sure you check back then.

And without making you wait any longer, Congratulations Robin! You are the lucky winner. Please email me at scrapbooksketches@gmail.com with your full name and address so I can send you some Chocolate. Please email me sometime before October 6th, or I will draw a new winner on October 7th.

Have a great Sunday everyone. I will be back tomorrow with a new 12 x 12 Layout Sketch!

Journaling Challenge #4

Ah, it is Friday again! I'm very excited! I'm looking forward to this weekend. With my in laws in town, it is sure to be a busy one.

With my in laws being in town, it sure was like Christmas Yesterday. They brought so much stuff for the kids. And I was right, no scrapping stuff for me. Oh well, I better make sure to specifically ask for it when my Mom and Sister come in November. Although, my sister does scrapbook, so I might have better luck with their trip.

So todays journaling challenge I got from Jessica over at Scrap Freak. At Scrap Freak, we have what is called Freaky Friday and we have a variety of Challenges. Well, Jessica did a Journaling Challenge in July that I loved. So I am going to use it here today. Thanks Jessica for a Fabulous Challenge.

The journaling for your layout needs to come from a blog post, a received or sent email, a written letter or note, a card, etc.

I am sharing my layout I did for that. It is not a very good picture. I used a transparancy for my journaling and the glare made it hard to take a picture.

Have a great weekend everyone. Remember that tomorrow is the last day to share your cards for the Card Sketch with Chocolate. I will be drawing a winner Sunday.

Card Sketch #13

Today is a very exciting day at my house because Grandma and Grandpa (my husbands parents) are flying into Germany to visit us for a week. They will actually show up on my door step at any given moment. With that said, I don't know what time I will be able to pop on the computer each day. But, I will post every day while they are here. So, I am apologizing in advance if I post something later versus earlier on some given days.

We are very excited because we know that they are bringing some very exciting things for my kids, like Macaroni and Cheese. Oh I know, we used to call it Yellow Death while in College. But for my kids, that is like a piece of home. I doubt I will be getting any fun scrapping supplies. But if I do, you can be sure I will share my excitement with you.

Don't forget the special Card Sketch I posted over the weekend. You only have three more days to share a link to your card in order to be entered into the drawing for some great chocolate.

Also, World Card Making Day is coming up. I am working on a few surprises for that day to help celebrate such a fabulous day.

On to this weeks Card Sketch. I personally want to thank Holly Lane for submitting a card for us. It is always fun to see such creative and beautiful cards with the sketches. Anyone can submit cards. Just send me an email and let me know you would like to, and I will be sure to send you a sketch to work on.

Have a great day everyone!

When you are done, let us know you completed it by posting a comment below. I would love to see what you created if you feel like sharing!

Have fun with it! And Have a Great Day! I'll be back tomorrow with a new card sketch.

Happy Monday!

What a great response so far to the Card Challenge I posted over the weekend. If you haven't seen it yet, you really should check it out. If you upload a link to your card you made from that particular sketch, then you have a chance of winning some German Chocolate!

Card Sketch with Chocolate!

As my blog stats, I am an American Living in Germany. And today marks the one year mark that we have been here. So as a way to celebrate, I am uploading a new card sketch. A long with it, I will be offering one lucky person a good assortment of German Chocolates. Now, I know most people might think that scrap supplies might be a nicer prize. But first off, I am in Germany. There is no place to really shop here for supplies. I rely on my friends and family to keep me stocked. Plus, I am living in the land of fabulous chocolate. So I thought it was a great idea for a prize since I am celebrating being here. Now if you are one of those who are thinking, "isn't chocolate, chocolate?" The answer is no! German chocolate is soooo good!

Like I mentioned, one lucky person will win this fabulous chocolate. You have from today until Next Saturday, September 29th to complete this card sketch and link your card you made in the comment section. I will then draw one lucky winner on Sunday September 30th from all those who linked their card creations.

As stated above, I will post the winner on September 30th. The winner will have one week to contact me with their name, address and email address. If I do not hear from the winner, then I will draw a new winner on October 7th.

For those that are interested in my families adjustment to life in Germany, you can see my personal blog at Living In Germany .

Have a great weekend! I will be back Monday with a 12 x 12 Layout Sketch!

Card Sketch #12

It's Thursday! I am so very happy about that. There are two reasons.

First is because we are just that much closer to the weekend. I am looking forward to the weekend. Hopefully I will be able to take it easy this weekend since last weekend was so crazy.

The second reason I am excited about Thursday, is because Thursday is Card Sketch Day!

So I have a secret. And everyone who knows me knows I am not very good at keeping secrets. So I am going to give you a hint. Normally, I do not post on here during the weekends. But Saturday I am going to post. And you will definately want to check it out when I do.

Have fun with the sketch. Hope to see a card or two linked up in the comment section. It is so fun to see all the creations from a little sketch.

Have a great day everyone!

Journaling Challenge #2

Happy Tuesday!

When trying to think about what kind of journaling challenge I was going to add today, I decided on one that is probably really common for a lot of you. But maybe there are some out there who have not done this yet or don't do it very often.

One of my current favorite things is Journaling with Words Strips. Here is an example of a layout I recently made using the word strips.

I'd love to see your layouts. Just link them up in the comment section.

Have a great day everyone! A fun Recipe Challenge will be coming up Tomorrow!

12 X 12 Layout Sketch #12

It is amazing how fast the weekend seems to fly by. I actually did some scrapping this weekend. I made a 20 page 6 x 6 album for my friends birthday. And then I gave it to her already. She of course loved it. It was so nice to finish it. I actually started a project and finished it in the same day. That does not happen very often.

Well, today's sketch is a little different. It is a way to add extra photos with not so much space. I got (9) 4 x 6 photos on one page. As I look at the completed page now (I did this page almost 2 years ago), I definately need more embellishments or some pattern paper. It needs something. But I am not the type to go back and fix it.

Enjoy the sketch! If you decide to use the sketch, I'd love to hear about it and if you would like to share your completed layout, just link it up in the comment section.

Also, if anyone would like to submit a layout for the blog, just email me or you can also drop me a note in the comment section. I would be happy to send you a sketch in advance.

I will be back tomorrow with a Challenge. Have a great day!

Ad Challenge #2

TGIF!

I have a busy weekend ahead of me. My husband returns from Sweden tonight. Then there are birthday parties, School Activities and company dinners happening all weekend. But, I am hoping, inbetween all the hecticness, I will be able to sit down and scrap.

Today our challenge is an Ad Challenge. I am going to share an ad I found on-line. Take the ad and use it for inspiration and create a layout. When you are done, let us know you completed it by posting a comment below. I would love to see what you created if you feel like sharing!

Have fun with it! And Have a Great Weekend! I'll be back Monday with a 12 x 12 Layout Sketch.

Card Sketch #11

Happy Thursday!

The weekend is almost here and I am so ready for it to arrive. My husband is working in Sweden this week and I am getting hardly any sleep. For some reason, the two small kids are deciding they don't want to sleep during the night while he has been gone. I am so in need of a nap. But, since Hannah gets out of school at 10:45 today and Shantal and Spencer get out at 11:35, I won't be seeing a nap anytime soon.

I was thinking around 2am, that if I was going to be up, I might as well do something productive like scrap. But of course, with a one year old (that is who was up at that time), scrapping would not be productive because I would be pulling him out of everything.

Here is this weeks card sketch. If you want to share, I'd love to see what you made. Just link your work up in the comment section.

Have a Great Thursday!

Layout Sketch #11

Here we are at Monday again! Mondays seem to be a day that I dread. The weekend is over, the craziness of work, school and schedules start all over again.

Although I must say, I am pretty happy that this past week is now behind us. I had my Grandpa's funeral last week. I didn't get to attend and I think that added to my emotional battle last week.

And then my son got beat up at School. Someone punched him right in the mouth and it knocked out one of his teeth. It has been a super hard transition here in Germany. Schools are different. At least here where we live. Anyway, this is such a long story. So if you want to read more, you really should read my personal blog. It is found here: Living In Germany.

So, like I previously mentioned, it is Monday! The one thing I look forward to with Monday, is uploading a new Layout Sketch!

Have a Great Day and I will back tomorrow with a Challenge!

Journaling Challenge #1

I am very excited about Journaling Challenges. Journaling is the hardest part of a layout for me. And sometimes, I get my layout all completed with the exception of the Journaling and then months later, I take that stack of layouts and do the journaling all at one time. I don't like the way I do that. I like to see my layout complete with Journaling the same day I worked on it. That has been a goal of mine and I am getting better at it.

As many of you know, I am a member of Scrap Freak. Scrap Freak is an online Scrapbooking Community. It is a fun place to hang out. If you haven't checked it out yet, I highly suggest you do. Lots of talented ladies over there and VERY friendly! If you decide to register for Scrap Freak, please enter Tamara under the referral on your registration form. I'd appreciate that.

Anyway, back to why I am mentioning Scrap Freak. Someone on there recently showed a layout that the Husband had made and Journaled. I loved it. And this is where my idea for today's challenge came from!

Have someone else, besides yourself, do the journaling for a layout. It can be your husband, your friend, your child, your Mom! The possibilities are endless on who could journal for you.

I can't wait to see how the journaling turns out on your pages. If you complete this challenge, I'd love to hear about it. Just leave me a message in the comment section. And if you feel up to sharing your layout, please link it up in the comment section as well!

Have a Fabulous Friday and a Super Weekend everyone! See ya on Monday!

12 X 12 Layout Sketch #10

Happy Labor Day to those of you in the U.S.! Today is just a normal day for me. No holiday. But if I were in the states, it probably wouldn't be a typical holiday anyway. My Grandpa's viewing is tonight and the funeral is tomorrow. I am a so sad I can't be there. I did look into airfare. But it was more than 1,200 Euros. Which is around 1,500 Dollars.

My son, Ian, had his first birthday on Friday. We had a lot of fun watching him open presents and eating cake. I am very excited to scrap those pictures after I get them developed.

Now on to some fun news! I am going to start blogging here Monday through Friday. Monday will be the Layout Sketch and Thursday will continue to be the Card Sketch. Then Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, you will have to tune in to see what it will be. Don't miss the fun, come check back everyday!

Now onto today's sketch. Link your layout you create in the comment section if you care to share.

Have a fabulous Day!
