Hiya, I'm Bev and am so excited to be this weeks guest designer. When Tamara emailed me to ask I was dumbfounded lol.

I've been married to my best friend for 32 years, have two children and 2 grandchildren. I got into cardmaking by accident about 3 years ago. I was going to eggcraft classes and the girls were talking about the new cardmaking craze. "I'll never do that" I said - well, never say never cos I am so passionate about paper it's taken over my life (and my home!!) My hubby is busy converting the garage into a craft room for me as I have outgrown the big spare bedroom that is my current craft room. I can safely say I am addicted!!! In fact I have to force myself to go to work five days a week to fund my addiction.

I started a blog http://bevscrafts.blogspot.com/ in April (another one of those never say never moments - I was Never going to start blogging!)

I have gone way back and chosed Card Sketch 3, it's an oldie but a goodie and perfect for the larger stamps. I've used Charlotte in her Sledge by Whiff of Joy stamps, which I've coloured with Distress Inks and Twinkling H2O's (my other addiction). Stamping is my favourite medium, I mainly tend to stick to that now. I love how you can take one stamp and get so many different looks from it.

Card Sketch #59

Today is the last day for cards from some of our Design Team Members. So I just want to give a great big Thank You to each and every Design Team Member. I appreciate you very much and you are all so very talented. For those that are leaving (Alaine, Carol, Dawn, Lori, Mel and Tammy), I will miss having you as part of the Sketches! Card Design Team.

Sketches! Design Team Spotlight: Lori Tecler

I am excited to announce that this weeks Sketches! Design Team Spotlight is:

Lori Tecler

I'm Lori Tecler. I've really enjoyed being a part of Tamara's card sketch design team over the past 9 months. What a talented group of crafters she has assembled! I look forward to seeing the new sketches each week and looking at how each design team member has made the sketch her own.

I live in Maryland, outside of Washington DC with my golden retriever/German shepherd mix, Cosmo, also known as Cosmo the crazy dog due to his ongoing adventures (or, more accurately, mis-adventures). My day job is in the education field. After teaching kindergarten for over ten years, I now work in the central office of a large suburban school district. I recently completed my second masters degree. It's a huge relief to have all of the work finished so I have more time for crafting and other fun things.

I've been stamping for about 5 years now. I'm mostly a cardmaker, but I do some altered art projects from time to time, too. I'm currently a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and also do design team work for several stamp companies, including Kitchen Sink Stamps, Starving Artistamps, and Clear & Simple Stamps.

Thanks again to Tamara for the continued inspiration and for the opportunity to be a part of such a fantastic team.

I asked Lori to choose her favorite Card she has made since being on the Sketches! Design Team and she chose Card Sketch #32.

Thank you Lori for your continued efforts in making the Sketches! Blog a success. Not only are Lori's cards always amazing, but she has never missed a week of turning in a card since joining the Design Team in January 2008. I appreciate you very much!

New Design Team Members Times Two

I know a lot of you are going to read this and just want to glance to see who the new Card Design Team Members are. But please read this very carefully, because not only am I announcing the Card Design Team Members on here, I am also announcing a second Design Team and what it is for. {smiles}

We had over 100 people apply to be on the Sketches! Card Design Team. And I went through each submission at least two times. This was not an easy task for me. I picked out my top 9 and sent it off to ten Card and Layout Design Team Members. I value the Design Team Members and their opinions. Everyone voted for their top 5 and the ones with the most points are our new Sketches! Card Design Team Members.

I thank each and everyone of you who applied. Oh my goodness, the talent and creativity was amazing. I encourage those of you who didn't make the Design Team to re-apply during our next Sketches! Card Design Team Call.

Now, on to the second group of names. Back when I first started this blog, I used to have Scrapping Recipe Challenges. For one reason or another, I stopped doing them. But I have decided to bring it back a long with a group of Design Team Members. Every Tuesday, you will be challenged to use three things on a card or layout. There are 5 Design Team Members who will make cards and 5 who will make Layouts to help inspire you. Some of the Design Team Members are familiar faces around here. Others are past Guest Designers here at Sketches. And lastly, there are some who simply are new to Sketches! I am sure you will be inspired by what each person has to offer.

I am excited to announce this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:

Alecia Castro

A little about me... I'm Alecia Castro, I turned 33 years old this summer, and I'm addicted to scrapping in the worst way!!

I was born in a small town (Baytown, TX) but now live in the big city of Houston with my hubby and two teen stepchildren. Yes, teens... LORD help me... LOL!! I work full-time as an Engineering Coordinator, and work a four 10-hour day work week. LOVE this schedule as I have every Friday off. LOVE the 3-day weekend... lots of scrappy time. I've been scrapping for about 6 years and love everything about it!!
