Sketches! Guest Designer: Christi Thorsen

I am excited to announce that this week's Sketches! Guest Designer is:

Christi Thorsen

Hello everyone! I'm Christi Thorsen and I am so excited to be this week's guest designer!! I am married to the love of my life Todd and we have two little boys: Eric who is three and Dylan who just turned two on July 18th (that is him with me in the picture)frefffvfsssszzxx! I was a CPhT (Pharmacy Technician) for 8 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. I love my job and wouldn't trade it for anything. I started stamping a little over a year ago when I met up with an old high school friend who made her own handmade cards and scrapbooked. I made my mom a birthday card that year and it has been a blur ever since. I signed up to be a Stampin' Up! demo in September 2007 and in January 2008 was asked to be on the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps design team. I feel so blessed to be where I am and have so many hopes and dreams for the future.

I am a huge fan of Verve Stamps, Papertrey Ink, and of course Stampin' Up! and Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I am really not partial when it comes to stamps and companies. I don't care who makes it...if I like it I like it! :) I am a huge bling gal so you're bound to see baubles, gemstones, or something sparkly somewhere on my cards. I am quickly becoming a ribbon fiend even though I do not have a lot of ribbon (I'm working on that *wink*) and patterned paper has to be somewhere on my card as well. As far as coloring, I LOVE my Copics but am quickly branching out into watercoloring. My first coloring technique was Prismacolors/OMS so I guess you could say that was my first coloring love. You can see all my creations on Splitcoaststampers under the name Cici510 (Cici is what my nephews call me and 5-10 is my birthday) or on my blog Story About A Girl.

Besides stamping I am an avid reader, writer, and love going to the gym and working out (still trying to work off that baby weight). My live really revolves around my family and my love of the Lord and of course stamping!!

My card today is something that is really close to my heart. My best friend Sarah just found out that she is expecting her second child. They have been trying for awhile now and I am so excited that the wait is over. I used sketch #50 which is one of my favories. I love clean lines and that is exactly what you get from this sketch. I used two of Papertrey's new colors: Aqua Mist and Sweet Blush as my color scheme as well as Chocolate Chip from Stampin' Up!. Since we don't know what she is having yet I wanted to use a soft blue and a soft pink. I hand-stitched around the edges of each panel with a chocolate thread and used my SU set Bundled In Love for my image and sentiment. The patterned paper is also from Papertrey Ink (Everyday Blessings and Pink Patterns). The Aqua Mist satin ribbon ties the whole card together and gives it that cutsie baby touch. I hope my friends like it and I hope that you like it too.

I really enjoyed being this weeks Featured stamper. Thank you again to Tamara for this wonderful honor.

Here is the Sketch that Christi chose to use. It is Sketch #50.

And here is the card that Christi made for us today.
