Sketches! Design Team Spotlight: Carol Sheetz

I am excited to announce that our first Sketches! Design Team Spotlight is:

Carol Sheetz

Carol has been a member of the Sketches! {by tamara} Design Team since January 29, 2008. Here is what Carol had to say about herself:

I've been married for 14 years to my husband, Dave. My husband has always been very supportive and understanding about my addiction to paper crafting! We have two girls. Emily is 12, and Jessica will be 11 this month. We also have a very spoiled Australian Shepherd named Princess. We live in Illinois in a suburb that is SW of Chicago.

My start into paper crafting is probably similar to a lot of women. It all started when I went to a Creative Memories demonstration about 12 years ago. While I really liked the idea of scrapbooking, CM just didn't do it for me. Then one night, I was surfing through some channels on TV, and I found myself on QVC watching Lisa Bearnson present a big scrapbooking kit. I made my very first QVC purchase that night, and I've never looked back! I love EVERYTHING about scrapbooking. I love the papers, the embellishments, ribbon, etc. I also fell in love with rubber stamping! Talk about another addiction! The first time I saw heat embossing at a Stampin' Up demonstration, I think my mouth was probably hanging open!

I now find myself scrapbooking, creating cards, and altering items. I even share my addiction with my daughters. They are very creative! The best part of this hobby is preserving our memories. When I see one of my girls pulling down a scrapbook album to look at the pages that I've created, that does it for me . . . that's WHY I scrapbook! I never thought of myself as a creative person until I started scrapbooking and card making. Now I realize that crafting is my creative outlet and my art form. I absolutely love it!

I asked Carol to choose her favorite Card she has made since being on the Sketches! Design Team. She just simply couldn't choose one. So I am uploading two. They are Card Sketches #34 and #50.

Layout Sketch #53

Happy Monday! I am back here in Germany and I have to say that my vacation to America was all too short. But it was so much fun. I got to meet so many online scrapbooking people. Plus, I got to hang out with my family for one and a half weeks. The time really did fly by.

Thank you to Bethany for uploading the sketches for me and to the Design Team for putting up with me being gone.
