I am excited to announce that this weeks Sketches! Guest Designer is:

Tamara McKlveen

Wow, I was so excited to be picked as a guest designer this week! Thanks so much for the opportunity.

I have been an avid scrapbooker for about twelve years (I still have all the stickers and die cuts that used to be all you could get - just imagine!) I taught scrapbooking and card making at a local scrapbook store for three years. I've moved on from teaching, but I still workin a scrapbook store! I'm also a hobby demonstrator for Stampin' Up!. In addition to that, I now own my own little on-line scrapbooking store, Mothers and Daughters Creations. I guess you could say I'm a little addicted to scrapbooking!!

In those rare times when I'm not doing something scrapbook related, I am a very busy mother of two. We live in rural Virginia and we have lots of pets - three dogs, a cat, and a guinea pig! My little son has Autism and I always try to educate, bring awareness, and support causes for Autism whenever I can.

Layout Sketch #46

It is crazy how fast Monday always comes. Seems like the day we dread the most at our house. With the craziness of everyone getting back to school after the weekend and all the hectic schedules that comes with five kids. I have to say I am really looking forward to Summer break. Unfortunatly, We don't start here until June 26th.

I would like to take a minute to thank Pearl for all the time and Layouts she has contributed to the Sketches! Blog. She has been a great Design Team Member and I will truly miss having her with us. You can see her last Layout below.

This week, I have Sketches! {by tamara}'s first 2 Page Sketch. The Design Team really loved this Sketch and I hope you do too.

New Layout Design Team Members

Let me start out by saying I am so glad I gave myself a few days to make my decision, after the deadline for submissions, before I needed to make the announcement of new Design Team Members. We had over 100 people apply to be on the Sketches! Layout Design Team. What a shock for my teeny tiny blog. And I must say, I went through every single submission at least twice.

This was not an easy task for me. I picked out my top 16 and sent it off to the Layout Design Team Members who were continuing on for a second term and then also to the Card Design Team Members. I value the Design Team Members and their opinions. Everyone voted for their top 5 and the ones with the most points are our new Sketches! Layout Design Team Members.

I thank each and everyone of you who applied. Oh my goodness, the talent and creativity was amazing. I encourage those of you who didn't make the Design Team to re-apply during our next Sketches! Layout Design Team Call.

Sketches! Guest Designer: Risa West

I am excited to announce that this week's Sketches! Guest Designer is:

Risa West

My name is Risa West (aka Malieta). I am married to a great guy and I have two boys and my husband has a set of twins who live with us. As you might guess, there never is a dull moment around our house! The funny thing is..I love every minute it! Due to an automobile accident in 2005, I no longer work and after working in the shop for 26 yrs. I'm finally a "stay at home mom" !

I will celebrate a year of making cards next month. I became interested in cards while at a yard sale. The lady that was giving the yard sale had a huge selection of craft goodies and catalogs. I brought a few goodies and some catalogs and was on my into the unknown. *smile*I'm so glad that I made that stop that day, this hobby is among the best things that have ever happend to me!

Sometimes, I am not sure if I like a Sketch that I come up with or not. And the Sketch this week is one of those I was unsure of when I turned it over to the Design Team. But I got so many fabulous raves from the Design Team Members who loved the Sketch.

My name is Stephanie Hargis. I will have been married 1 year this July to a wonderful man. We live in the beautiful state of Colorado and we absolutely love it here. I teach 2nd grade and find such a joy in it!

I was introduced to stamping back in November and have been obsessed ever since!
